Acuña Slacks, Dodgers Dominate, Four-Game Slate Awaits

Acuña pimps it, draws single and ridicule

The Braves and Cardinals provided all of the drama fans could have hoped for in Game 1 of their series.

The play everyone is talking about came in the bottom of the seventh inning when Ronald Acuña Jr. hit what he thought was a home run.

It wasn’t. He was held to a single.

Acuña was benched for not running out a fly ball earlier this season. His teammates, including Ozzie Albies, weren’t happy with his effort and voiced their displeasure to the media after the game.

Cardinals Survive, Dodgers Dance to Victory

Seven runs were scored in the ninth inning in Atlanta. Marcell Ozuna gave the visiting Cardinals a two-run lead with a clutch double in the top half of the inning.

In the bottom of the ninth, Acuña got enough of one that it left the building.

When the final swing missed, words were exchanged and Yadier Molina avoided a potential conflict as St. Louis took a lead in the NLDS.

In the other NLDS, the Dodgers allowed only two hits and shut out the Nationals. Before the game even began in LA, the celebration had begun. The Dodgers had mariachi on the field for player introductions.
