From Pedro to Vladi Jr., baseball world reacts to Ortiz shooting

Late Sunday night, news broke across social media that Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz was shot in the Dominican Republic. As the news reached players, many offered their thoughts and prayers for one of the more popular players of the last two decades.
Pedro Martínez was happy to hear Ortiz was in stable condition.
Early Monday morning the Boston Red Sox tweeted this statement:

Alex Rodriguez shared his concern.

Former American League MVP José Altuve offered prayers.
As did two-time AL MVP Mike Trout.

Thoughts came from St. Louis as well. Yadier Molina prayed for a speedy recovery.
Cardinals outfielder Marcell Ozuna was concerned but faithful.
Marcus Stroman competed against Ortiz, but shared his respect and love for the legend.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. didn’t play against Ortiz but his father did. The Blue Jays phenom was also relieved to hear the surgery was a success.
Andrew McCutchen was also shaken up by the news.
