Sanchez showers, Minnesota history, new-look All-Star Game ballots

Yolmer Day(s) at the ballpark
White Sox utility man Yolmer Sánchez has as much fun at the park as anyone in baseball. During another rain relay on Monday Sánchez entertained the remaining fans with one of his specialties: the personal Gatorade shower.
That game between the White Sox and Royals was suspended, however, and finished Tuesday. Fittingly, Sánchez ended it with a walk-off single. Of course this time his teammates were the ones bringing the Gatorade.
Minnesota history
The Twins have been mashing the ball all season, and on Tuesday Eddie Rosario hit a homer that changed the record books in Minnesota.

Devers for three
Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers hit his first career triple Tuesday, prompting the team to post the video on Instagram.

Fan Post of the Day
In Mexico the Diablos are making their games inclusive to all fans. This fun photo has the mascot jumping into the action with the team’s No. 1 fan.
Pro Post of the Day
We absolutely love pictures of Javier Báez and his son. These gems were taken as the Cubs took off on a themed road trip, with El Mago wearing a full Dr. J uniform from the hoops legend’s days with the Sixers.
OTD
2014 – Toronto’s Edwin Encarnación hits two home runs but the Blue Jays fall to the Royals 8-6 in 10 innings. Encarnación becomes only the third player in history to have five multi-homer games in one month, joining Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew and Albert Belle. Encarnación also ties Mickey Mantle’s record for the most home runs hit in May (16) and established a new Toronto record for homers hit in one month.
2013 – Catcher Dioner Navarro hits two home runs from the left side of the plate and adds a third long ball from the right side, leading the Cubs to a 9-3 win over the White Sox.
2012 – Ciego de Ávila wins its first Cuban Serie Nacional title, beating the 12-time champion Industriales, 4 games to 1, in the finals.
2010 – Kendry Morales breaks his left ankle jumping on home plate while celebrating his walk-off grand slam that beat the Mariners 9-7.
2006 – Albert Pujols hits his 25th home run of the season in the Cardinals’ 3-1 victory over the Astros. Pujols becomes the third-fastest big-leaguer to hit 25 homers in a season, reaching the mark in 51 games. Barry Bonds required 47 games in 2001 and Mark McGwire needed 50 in 1998.
1994 – Cincinnati trades outfielder Roberto Kelly and pitcher Roger Etheridge to Atlanta for outfielder Deion Sanders.
Happy birthday!
