The language used by Orioles pitchers might be artistic after they served up three more home runs to Gleyber Torres on Monday. Torres has now hit 13 home runs and five multi-homer games against the Orioles this year.

2018 – Atlanta rookie outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. became only the fourth player in major league history to lead off both games of a doubleheader with a home run. Acuña joined Hall of Famers Harry Hooper (in 1913) and Rickey Henderson (in 1993), and Brady Anderson (1999).
2007 – Placido Polanco played his 144th consecutive game at second base without an error, breaking Luis Castillo‘s record which set earlier during the 2007 season.
2004 – President George W. Bush met and exchanged autographed baseballs with Edgar Martinez at Seattle’s Boeing Field.
1998 – Orlando Hernandez set a Yankee rookie record by striking out 13 Rangers. The Yankees won 2-0.
