Beltré’s commercial, no White House for the Sox and Kennys’ new ink
BELTRÉ’S UNEXPECTED APPEARANCE
J.C. Penney ran a commercial about the “meaning of the season” and giving back. In the commercial, customers had items bought for them. Then they chose an item that they’d donate. One of the customers was none other than recently-retired Dominicano, Adrián Beltré. Clearly, the people at J.C. Penney didn’t know who they were interacting with.
NO GOVERNMENT MEANS NO WHITE HOUSE VISIT
According to the Boston Globe, the Red Sox will postpone their White House visit original visit from Feb. 15 to May 6, 7 or 8. Several of the Latino players “said they will not attend (Rafael Devers), are unlikely to attend (Eduardo Rodriguez), or are undecided (Xander Bogaerts, Eduardo Nunez),” according to the Globe. Last week, manager Álex Cora said he would represent Puerto Rico the right way if he goes.
NEW INK, WHO DIS?
Kennys Vargas got some new ink, so hear him roar. The Boricua is the newest member of the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Japanese Pacific League. New team, new ink, we see you Kennys. KOUUN O INORU!
HIDE THE SPINACH
Looks like Wilmer Difo has been eating his spinach. The Dominican second baseman is giving Popeye a run for his money in a photo posted by the Nationals. A Dominican Popeye … yeah, we can see it.
PRO POST OF THE DAY
D-Rod is getting warmed up (pun intended) for spring training. The Giants pitcher Dereck Rodríguez knows there are only 19 days until pitchers and catchers report. When your dad is a Hall of Famer and your last name is Rodríguez, baseball is 24/7. Let’s go.
FAN POST OF THE DAY
Future legend, indeed. Which team is ready to sign him?
Happy Birthday!

José Macías, seven-year pro with Detroit, Montreal and the Chicago Cubs (b. 1972).
Anderson Machado, three-year pro with the Phillies, Reds and Rockies (b. 1981).
