Latinos on the move

What’s the best holiday gift this year? Tamales? Hallacas? How about a new team and new gear? That’s exactly what a trio of former Mariners are getting this holiday season. Edwin Díaz and Robinson Canó were dealt to the Mets and Jean Segura was dealt to the Phillies. Now, after being compañeros, they’ll face off for NL East supremacy with Ronald Acuña’s Atlanta Braves.

Cora, Red Sox headed to White House

Álex Cora didn’t hold back in his criticism of President Donald Trump back in September. When Trump questioned the death toll after Hurricane Maria, Cora hit back. Monday night, the Red Sox announced they’d be headed to the White House. Cora said he’ll use the opportunity in “the right way.” We know Cora will represent Puerto Rico and the Red Sox well.

Eduardo Núñez ties the knot

It’s been an action-packed couple of months for Red Sox infielder Eduardo Núñez. Núñez won the World Series in October with Boston and this past weekend se casó, he was married. Núñez and his wife Merarys wed in the Dominican Republic this weekend and, boy, was it a gathering of peloteros. Robinson Canó, Pedro Martínez and Carlos Santana all attended – showing off their singing skills – watch out Bad Bunny – in the process.

Social post of the day

White Sox catcher Welington Castillo is hard at work prepping for the 2019 season. But he has plenty of time to play around and edit some of his pictures. What a waiter!

Stat of the Day

New Phillies shortstop Jean Segura is in the top 25 in Wins Above Replacement (WAR) over the last three seasons with a 13.0 WAR. He ranks ahead of the likes of George Springer, Anthony Rizzo and Javy Báez.

Happy Birthday!
