Canó the pilot, toys from Nelson Cruz and Kiké’s incredible honeymoon

Robinson Canó – ¿El piloto?

Robinson Canó is a proven pelotero. On Friday, he showed his Twitter followers that he’s trying his hand at flying – sort of. Canó thanked Alaska Airlines for the flight on Twitter and shared a photo of him in the pilot’s seat. Maybe, when his playing days are up, he can perfect his pilot skills!

Star-studded softball game

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Carlos Gómez had a Christmas softball tournament over the weekend and, man, was it the spot to be. Not only was Gómez hosting it, but he had some pretty big names participating, too. Hall of Famers Vladimir Guerrero and Pedro Martínez played, with Guerrero showing some skill on the mound. Gómez even pointed out that Martínez showed up late to the event, you know, like any good Latino!

Hunter Pence steals the show again

Hunter Pence is hoping a strong performance in the Dominican Winter League will help him grab a spot on a Big League roster. Last week, Pence’s post-game speech was a hit. This week, after the Toros del Este clinched a spot in the playoffs, Pence was the center of attention, this time bailando into the hearts of fans everywhere.

Nelson Cruz gives back

Free agent Nelson Cruz was back in the Dominican Republic and helping out the community. Cruz and his friend Franklin Díaz Gilbert gave away toys to kids and even snapped a few photos with them. The former Mariner is no stranger to giving back; a dugout in the ballpark says “Donated by Nelson Cruz” en español. That’s what we like to see!

Omar Vizquel – proud papá

Omar Vizquel was feeling extra proud this weekend. He took to his Instagram on Sunday to show pride in his son, Nicholas, for his recent graduation. A proud moment, indeed!

Béisbol fans across Latin America are still mourning the losses of Venezuelan players Luis Valbuena and José Castillo. This jovencito honored Castillo in the coolest way possible. What a lovely gesture!
