Alonso recruiting Machado, Familia back in NY and Robert’s hair is en fuego

Family recruiting Machado to the South Side?

Yonder Alonso’s landed a new team when he signed with the Chicago White Sox. Now, he’s trying to get his cuñado to join him, too. Manny Machado’s wife, Yainee, just happens to be Alonso’s sister. The duo live a few blocks away from one another in Miami in the offseason, and now Alonso says he’d be fine with living close on the South Side of Chicago . Could we see a family reunion in the Windy City?

Familia’s grand entrance

Jeurys Familia is back with the Mets. And, man, did the Mets give him an awesome welcome back. The Mets general manager, Brodie Van Wagenen, drove Familia in their new Bullpen cart. No word on whether or not Familia asked for a pitstop to pick up some mangú, though.

Luis Robert’s new hair

White Sox Cuban prospect Luis Robert is one of our favorite Instagram follows: he shows off his swag, posts motivational quotes and shares the behind-the-scenes life of a minor leaguer. This time, however, he showed his new peinado. The orangeish hairdo is interesting, for sure. We’ll see how long he sticks around with it.

Pro Post of the Day

While we think the La Vida Baseball offices are muy guapa, they pale in comparison to true baller Francisco Cervelli’s at PNC Park. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more awesome, Cervelli showed off the park’s beautiful holiday lights. What a sight!

Fan Post of the Day

This beautiful mural of Roberto Clemente against the Puerto Rican flag hangs in Lawrence, Mass. Clemente’s legacy extends beyond Pittsburgh or Puerto Rico. ¡Wepa!

Happy birthday!
