Santana on the move (again), Blanco finds a new home and Canseco to Washington?
By Andy Martinez

Encarnación, Santana swap teams
Carlos Santana never got a chance to call Seattle home. After being traded from the Phillies to the Mariners on Dec. 3, Santana swapped teams again on Thursday, as he heads to Cleveland, with Edwin Encarnación heading to Seattle in a three-team deal. The Rays are getting Yandy Díaz from Cleveland. Though Santana probably never had the chance to buy a casa in Seattle, he won’t have to worry about buying a new joint in Cleveland, because he never sold his house there, per Jon Heyman.
Canseco, the chief of staff?
José Canseco has never been afraid to say what he wants. Now, the Bash Bro is reaching out to President Donald Trump about a new gig he’s interested in. Canseco would make an interesting choice for Chief of Staff, but he would definitely be able to help Trump get into (physical) shape.
Blanco has a team
Grégor Blanco, aka El Tiburón Blanco, has a new team in Venezuela. Aptly enough, he’s joining the Tiburones de La Guaira. Blanco is a free agent and hopefully, with a strong performance in his native Venezuela, he can find himself on a Big League club at the start of the season.
Social Post of the day
It’s commonplace for non-Latinos to play in the Winter Leagues across Latin America. Hunter Pence, who also is a free agent and looking for a spot on a Big League team, is trying his hand in the Dominican Winter League. Pence gave the Toros del Este a post-game speech and if this doesn’t make you ready to go all out for his team, what will?
Happy Birthday!
