White Sox prospects take part in Dominican trip
The White Sox are hosting a business trip for their prospects. Prospects are partaking in a weeklong cultural immersion trip in the Dominican Republic. Players will practice, visit an orphanage and a kids’ clinic. Our invite must’ve been lost in the mail …

MiLB shares top hats
What’s that chancla doing there?! Was someone here at the La Vida offices misbehaving?! Abuelita is sure gonna let us have it. Oh, no? Phew, it’s just Minor League Baseball’s top-selling hat of 2018! We’re relieved! Minor League Baseball shared it’s top 10 selling hats of 2018 and the San Antonio Missions’ Copa de Diversión hat, the Flying Chanclas, was the top hat of the year. Two hats from the Copa cracked the top four. The Albuquerque Isotopes’ Mariachis brand hat was number four on the list. We’re relieved the chancla wasn’t meant for us!
Grandal introduced
Yasmani Grandal was introduced on Tuesday as the newest member of the Milwaukee Brewers. Grandal signed a one-year, $16 million contract with the Cerveceros. Grandal will join a catching trio that includes Venezuelan Manny Piña and veteran Erik Kratz. The Brewers were appealing to Grandal because of his family, as Milwaukee’s Spring Training is in Phoenix, where he has his offseason home. We can’t blame the Yazmanian Devil for being a family man!
Jansen shares special moment
Most players are getting the last of their vacations in before Spring Training opens up next month. Dodgers’ closer Kenley Jansen spent his time with his family fishing, swimming and grabbing some much-needed R&R in his native Curaçao before Spring Training kicks off.
Garcia signs with Rays
Avisail García also found a new equipo. The free agent signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with Tampa Bay. García battled injuries in 2018 with the White Sox, but still hit a career-high 19 jonrones last season. He was an All-Star in 2017, so the Rays are hoping García can be a bounce back player.
Pro Post of the Day
We love behind the scenes looks at players’ lives. It makes us appreciate these peloteros and remember they do everyday things like any one of us. You know, like have their teeth cleaned at the dentist. That’s what Yasiel Puig showed us Monday on his Twitter. For some reason, we can’t look away, either …

Fan Post of the Day
It’s hard not to love a baby picture. Now a picture of a baby holding a baseball? That’s about as perfect as it can get!
Happy Birthday!
