Eloy hits bomb, Lindor showers Mercado, Kiké at it again

He hit it where?

White Sox rookie outfielder Eloy Jiménez hit his first home run at home. It traveled an estimated 462 feet to center field.

Jiménez got the Gatorade shower after the game and the ball as a souvenir. He also made sure to say hi to mom before the postgame interview concluded.

Kiké antics

Kiké Hernández always has fun, especially if there’s a camera around. Just don’t do a live shot when he’s on the bench.

Pro Post of the Day

Cubs reliever Pedro Strop has style and swag for days. We didn’t know he could rock the country look this well, though.

OTD

2018 – Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera suffered a season-ending torn biceps tendon while swinging in the third inning  against the Twins.

2012 – Alex Rodriguez took Atlanta’s Jonny Venters deep for his 23rd career grand slam, tying Lou Gehrig’s major league record for grand slams.

2004 – During an interleague game between the Orioles and Giants, Rafael Palmeiro hit his 536th and 537th career home runs, passing Mickey Mantle into 11th place on the career list.
