One pitch walkoff
Javier Báez didn’t start Tuesday night at Wrigley Field because of his sore heel, but he was definitely ready to hit. His number was called with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning. El Mago didn’t waste time ending it for the Cubs.
Infield walkoff
While Báez stepped in and rifled a ball down the right field line to win the game for Chicago, shortstop Amed Rosario turned on the jets to beat out an infield single to walk it off for the Mets on Tuesday night.
One Hall of a statue
Vladimir Guerrero Sr. was honored to be depicted in this unique statue.
A lot to smile about
Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor has really cranked it up lately for the struggling Cleveland offense. On Tuesday he started things off with a bang.
In Studio Dingers
The Nationals lost Bryce Harper over the winter but their outfield isn’t empty. Two of Washington’s young stars, Juan Soto and Victor Robles, stopped by MLB Network and had a little fun.
Pro Post of the Day
When the season began, the Yankees didn’t have a rotation spot for Domingo Germán. The young pitcher is now an American League-best 9-1. Germán took to Instagram to offer some motivation to his followers and fans.

Turning two isn’t easy. When you get it done right it’s worthy of a pat on the back. These teammates were excited to execute the turn.

2011 – Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera becomes only the fifth major league shortstop with a five-hit, two-homer game. Cabrera accomplished both in Cleveland’s 12-4 win over Cincinnati. Ironically, the last shortstop before Cabrera with a five-hit, two-homer game: Barry Larkin of the Reds in 2000.
2003 – Arturo “Arte” Moreno purchases the Anaheim Angels from the Walt Disney Co. for $184 million, becoming the third owner in the 43-year history of the franchise.
