El Bullpen Special Edition: Red Sox win the World Series
By Tab Bamford

On Sunday night the Boston Red Sox completed arguably the greatest season in the history of the storied franchise, winning the World Series. David Price started strong and Chris Sale threw the final pitch with some big hits and good defense in between. Steve Pearce was named the Willie Mays World Series Most Valuable Player after hitting three home runs in the series, two of which came on Sunday night.
So how did social media react to the victory?
Welcome to the club
Álex Cora became the first Puerto Rican and second Latino manager to win a World Series championship. The first Latino manager to lead a team to the top, Ozzie Guillén, congratulated Cora with a video on Twitter.

Ozzie wasn’t the only person congratulating Cora.
Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox players, Manager Alex Cora, owners, and all Red Sox fans for winning the 2018 World Series!!

Congratulations to the @RedSox! Not only have they demonstrated their dominance on the field, but also their willingness to help others in times of need. They are champions on and off the field. Thank You so much for helping Puerto Rico! @ac13alex pic.twitter.com/BHhyeFgwHw

Headed to the Hall
Whenever a championship is won, some items from important moments or individuals are added to the collection in Cooperstown. The National Baseball Hall of Fame has a nice selection of pieces coming from the 2018 World Series.
These @RedSox #WorldSeries artifacts are headed to Cooperstown:

How does Pedro feel?
Hall of Famer Pedro Martínez started his big league career with the Dodgers, but was infamously traded to Montreal on Nov. 19, 1993.
On Nov. 18, 1997 the Expos traded Pedro to the Boston Red Sox, and the rest is history.
So how did Pedro feel about the Red Sox winning a championship at Dodger Stadium?
Sympathy for the losers
The Dodgers poured everything they had into reaching the Fall Classic for a second consecutive year. While they came up short, the achievement of being there two years in a row is tremendous – and wasn’t lost on the baseball community.
Hey @Dodgers, the support group for back-to-back #WorldSeries losers meets on Tuesdays.

Strong rivalry
You think Giants fans were going to miss an opportunity to throw shade at the Dodgers? Of course not! Even the broadcast partners of the Giants were coming in hot on Sunday night.
