Nolan Arenado and the Rockies are finalizing an eight-year contract extension worth more than $260 million with opt-out after three years. If the deal goes through, Arenado would receive the largest per-year salary of any position player.

Hanley Ramírez needs new swag

The Indians signed Hanley Ramírez to a minor league contract with a non-roster invite to spring training. The Athletic’s Zack Meisel noted that Ramírez showed up with a Red Sox duffel bag. Someone get Ramírez some new swag ASAP.

The Long Beach Post reported that the city of Long Beach approached the Angels about moving the team to Snoop Dogg’s hometown. Will Arte Moreno ditch Orange Country for the LBC and change the name to Los Angeles Angels of Long Beach?
