Locker Room Talk: Head of Women's Team Sport, Octagon Susie Piotrkowski

Susie Piotrkowski, a former division-I lacrosse player, uses her past experiences in college sports as inspiration daily when it comes to life and her role as Head of Women's Team Sports at Octagon.

Throughout her career in sports business, the importance of inclusion and equality around females in sports has been at the forefront. In this episode of Locker Room Talk, Susie, with hosts Jennifer Mercedes and Julie Alexandria, discusses some of the biggest challenges female athletes face today. They call out the recent attention brought forth by images that went viral, and how the moment the photos surfaced, it became very clear the disparity in amenities and facilities between the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments.

Susie, Jennifer and Julie also share their advice for young women who are coming up in the industry on how to get noticed, encouraging them to show up and show that you’re a little different – make them remember you! Susie has a few tips and some lessons learned.

The three also talk about how sports can serve as a universal language, and how it can unite us. Join us each week on Locker Room Talk for conversations that celebrate and highlight the achievements of women in sports business – upcoming episodes feature NFL Rams Reporter Sarina Morales and MLB Agent Lonnie Murray.
