Well, when Mariano Rivera threw out the ceremonial first pitch Monday night during the Caribbean Series, he went to ole reliable, the cutter. Can you blame him?

It’s no secret that things are tense in Venezuela. Juan Guaidó declared himself president during of the Venezuelan Winter League finals. Players, coaches, fans and journalists recalled those turbulent times during the series.
Custrongan prospect eligistrongle to sign
Cuban shortstop Yolbert Sánchez is eligible to sign with a Major League Baseball team Tuesday, MLB.com reported. He is believed to be the top amateur most ready for the big leagues. Orioles’ general manager Mike Elias is in the Dominican Republic scouting Sánchez. Baltimore is believed to be a front-runner for him.
Didi, Andújar honored
Didi Gregorius and Miguel Andújar will receive awards at the 39th annual Thurman Munson Awards Dinner that benefits the AHRC New York City Foundation, which assists children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Yankees manager Aaron Boone, 1969 World Series champion Ed Kranepool and two-time Super Bowl champion Zak DeOssie also will be honored.
Guillén has the itch
Former White Sox and Marlins manager Ozzie Guillén wants to manage in the big leagues again. According to Forbes, he would consider a minor league managerial position if the opportunity was right.
