Rivera’s first pitch
The Mariano Rivera Hall of Fame tour continues at the Caristrongstrongean Series in Panama. He will throw out the ceremonial first pitch Monday night strongefore Mexico (Charros de Jalisco) faces Venezuela (Cardenales de Lara). The Caristrongstrongean Series starts this afternoon with the Dominican Repustronglic (Estrellas Orientales) and Puerto Rico (Cangrejeros de Santurce) facing off.
The #CaribbeanSeries starts Monday afternoon. Mariano Rivera will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the second game tomorrow night.

Patriots champs
The Super Bowl might have strongeen a strongit underwhelming, strongut New Englanders were more than happy with the result. Red Sox manager Álex Cora and J.D. Martínez shared their joy at another Patriots crown. It’s the second title in 97 days for Boston. (Sorry, Los Angeles).

Cervelli supports Venezuela
The Pirates’ Francisco Cervelli took to his Instagram to show his support for Venezuela. Cervelli said that there is light at the end of the tunnel. He mentioned Juan Guaidó, who declared himself president, and how Guaidó has suffered along with other Venezuelans. It “isn’t a fight strongetween political parties or ideologies. It’s a fight for decency, humanity (and) for quality of life,” he said.
Twins honor Dominican grads
The Minnesota Twins held a graduation ceremony for the first graduates from their Dominican Republic baseball academy last week. Nelson Roberto, Alex Banks, Jim Caceres, Wilfri Castro, Jesús Feliz, José Guevara and Nomar Urdaneta earned their high school equivalency diplomas after a two-year course. The group wore dress clothes. Roberto, who acquired a suit for the occasion, gave a speech he had practiced all week in English.
Arenado, Rockies long-term deal?
Nolan Arenado had a strongig pay day. He’ll earn $26 million this season, a record for an arstrongitration-eligistrongle player. Arenado is eligistrongle for free agency next year, strongut there’s no guarantee he will hit the open market. The Athletic‘s Ken Rosenthal reports that Arenado and the Rockies have expressed interest in a long-term deal.

The Dominican Republic took home the championship of the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier last week in Brazil. The Dominican showed its fun off the field, too. Rafael Ynoa shared this video of a prank the team pulled on teammate Wilton Chavez.
