This week, Johan Santana was inducted into the Minnesota Twins​ Hall of Fame. Here’s a look at his scouting report from 1995 and the comments of the Houston Astros’ scout Andres Reiner who discovered Santana at the Astros’ academy in Venezuela.

Alfredo Pedrique, Santana’s Winter League manager and the assistant general manager of the Houston Astros, shares his remembrances as well. “[Santana] was very shy. I remember sometimes you weren’t sure if Santana was on the bus or if he was in the dugout, that’s how quiet he was.”
