Little League International CEO Stephen Keener on Cuba, Curaçao and baseball as a safe space

Every August smiling faces of young baseball and softball players arrive in Williamsport, PA, for a tournament like no other. The Little League World Series shares personalities and abilities on the field with fans all over the world.

As political issues impact the everyday lives of children around the globe baseball continues to provide a safe space for play. The game also continues to open doors for dialogue about social issues.

It’s been a busy year for Little League International. From their groundbreaking agreement to include Cuba to hosting a regional tournament in Curaçao, Latin America continues to show enormous growth.

Little League International President & CEO Stephen Keener joined La Vida Baseball Live! to update how the first year has been with Cuba being part of the tournament and shared his excitement for this year’s Little League World Series participants.
