Yankees Sweep ALDS, while Nationals, Cardinals and Rays Survive Another Day

Bronx Bombers> Bomba Squad

The Yankees became the first team to clinch their respective ALDS matchup with a 5-1 win over the Twins to sweep the series 3-0.

Gleyber Torres got the scoring started with his first postseason home run.

Torres followed up his offensive highlight with this defensive gem.

The Bronx Bombers were also helped by a great start from ace Luis Severino.

Aroldis Chapman closed out the game to seal the win.

Yadier Molina calls game

With the Cardinals hoping to stave off elimination against the Braves, who else but Yadier Molina to force a Game 5.

Molina produced a walk-off sacrifice fly to even the series at 2-2.

He also helped tie things up at 4 in the eighth.

Here’s a closeup of Molina’s epic bat flip:

Molina’s walk-off makes him the second-oldest player in MLB postseason history to do so in order to hold off elimination. The other? Jackie Robinson in Game 6 of the 1956 World Series.

Nationals force Game 5

It was an all-out performance from the Nationals as they defeated the Dodgers, 6-1, to force a winner-take-all Game 5.

The team will look to win its first postseason series in history on Wednesday.

Rays squash Astros

There was no celebrating for the Astros on Tuesday after getting thrashed by the Rays, 10-3.

Monday’s win marks the first time in Rays postseason history that four homers were hit.

The Rays will look to force a Game 5 on Tuesday, while the Astros will try and clinch again.
